|
1) IrDa Connection
a) Start the program Symbian SMS Manager and go to Tools - Options - Connection&Common - Connection menu. Check the IrDa option there.
b) Start "OxyAgent" application in the phone and choose "Start IrDa exchange" menu item: Point phone's IrDa beam towards PC's one. Make sure that they are pointing at each other and that there are no obstructions between them.
c) Do not forget to exit from "OxyAgent" application after you finished working with the program. Note that infrared port is not deactivated after any period of inactivity and thus consumes battery power. d) It doesn't matter in what order you activate the programs on PC and in the phone. In other words you can perform actions in b) first, then run the program on PC. We recommend to turn off "IrDA" option if you work with Symbian SMS Manager in offline mode because searching for IR devices uses CPU resources.
Please, note: we do not support IrDa connection for UIQ3 phones.
2) Bluetooth Connection
a) Connecting the first time. Start "OxyAgent" application in the phone and choose "Start Bluetooth Exchange" menu item:
After entering the pass code and confirming you have the connection between the phone and PC (not the program!) established. Now run the Symbian SMS Manager, go to the options window and check Bluetooth driver option you are using:
After that, the program should find the phone and start exchanging data. Your PC may ask confirmation of accessing the port – do that.
b) Connecting paired devices. When you connect next time the phone may not ask the questions it had asked the first time. Also, you can run the PC program first and then start OxyAgent.
c) The connection session.
OxyAgent logs current data events in its interface during the connection session:
Please, note: In the 'Connect via' section you can only see the drivers, are found and supported by the program. If Symbian SMS Manager cannot find virtual ports for the drivers, they are displayed in grey. If the ports are found - they are displayed in black.
